How DomusVesta Works

How DomusVesta Works

DomusVesta is a UK platform that connects local households with trusted local providers, including trades, helpers and carers. It is built around one simple idea: when you need help at home, you should be able to find someone local who has already been checked and approved, see honest reviews from real jobs, and then deal with that person directly.

It is important to be clear about what DomusVesta is and is not. DomusVesta is a trust and matching platform. It is not a payments platform. It does not handle payments, deposits, escrow or commission. When you agree work with a provider, the money side is arranged directly between you and them, exactly as it would be if a neighbour had recommended them.

DomusVesta is launching town by town, so some booking features may show as Coming soon until the service goes fully live in your area. Everything below describes the complete journey once your town is live.

The household journey, step by step

If you are a household looking for help, here is how it works from start to finish.

  1. Create a free account. Households join DomusVesta completely free. Creating an account lets you save providers, request bookings and leave reviews after work is done. For a full walkthrough, see our guide on how to create your free account.

  2. Search by service and location. Tell us what you need and where you are. You might be looking for a plumber, an electrician, a gardener, a cleaner or a carer. DomusVesta shows you providers who serve your area.

Searching for a local provider

  1. View checked, approved providers. Every provider you see has already been reviewed and approved before appearing. On each profile you will find verification badges that show the level of trust earned, star ratings, written reviews, clear pricing and availability. This means you are never browsing strangers; you are browsing people who have passed our checks.

A provider's profile

  1. Choose the right provider. Compare profiles, read reviews and look at the services and pricing each provider offers. Choosing well is worth a little time, so we have written a guide on choosing the right provider.

  2. Request a booking. When you have found someone suitable, request a booking through their profile. This sends your enquiry directly to the provider.

  3. Message the provider directly. Once a booking is requested, you can message the provider inside that booking. You can discuss exactly what you need, agree dates and confirm details, all in one place and all directly with the person who will do the work.

  4. Leave a review after the work is done. When the job is complete, you can leave a review. This helps the next household and rewards providers who do good work. See our guide on leaving a review for tips.

Why you can trust what you see

A few principles keep DomusVesta honest, and they protect both households and providers.

  • Providers are reviewed and approved before they appear. Nobody simply switches on a profile and goes live. Each provider submits their business details, insurance and relevant certifications, which are reviewed and approved first. You can read exactly how in our guide on how we check and approve providers.

  • Reviews come only from completed bookings. A review can be left only by a household after a booking has been completed. This means every review reflects real, finished work, not anonymous opinions. There is more detail in how reviews work.

  • You deal directly with the provider. DomusVesta introduces you and gives you a place to message, but the working relationship is between you and the provider. There is no middleman taking a cut of the job.

  • DomusVesta does not handle payments or take commission. We do not process payments, hold deposits or charge commission on the work you agree. How and when you pay is something you arrange directly with your chosen provider.

What it means for providers

If you are a provider, DomusVesta is a way to be found by local households who are actively looking for help, and to stand out because you have been checked and approved. During the pre-launch period, providers can become one of the first 500 Founding Members, which gives six months free and then a simple £1.99 per month. You can learn more in our guide on how to join as a founding member.

A platform built on local trust

DomusVesta is designed to feel like the best kind of personal recommendation: a local provider you can trust, with real reviews behind them, and a direct line of communication so you always know who you are dealing with. Because we launch town by town, the experience keeps improving as more checked providers join your area.
