Choosing the Right Provider

By Jihan Shanabli

Choosing the Right Provider

Once you have a list of providers in front of you, the next step is choosing the one who is right for your job. Every provider on DomusVesta has a profile page packed with helpful information, and learning to read it will help you decide with real confidence. This guide takes you through each part of the profile, one step at a time.

Step-by-step: reading a provider's profile

  1. From your search results, select a provider to open their profile page.
  2. At the top you will see their photo, their business name, and their location, so you immediately know who they are and where they are based.
  3. Look at their pricing. This gives you a sense of how they charge before you go any further.
  4. Check the availability badge. This shows one of three states: Available now, Outside working hours, or Unavailable. It is a quick way to gauge whether they are likely to respond soon.
  5. Review the verification badges, explained in more detail below.
  6. Read their overall star rating, then any category ratings, their description, their photo portfolio, and finally their reviews.

Understanding verification badges

Trust is at the heart of DomusVesta, and the verification badges are one of the clearest signs of it. You may see:

  • Verified Professional
  • Trusted Professional
  • Community Champion

These badges recognise providers who have met our checks and earned standing within the community. Seeing one of these badges is a reassuring sign that you are dealing with someone who takes their work and their reputation seriously.

Understanding ratings

Every provider has an overall star rating, which sums up how households have rated them overall. Many profiles also show category ratings, which break that experience down into the things that matter most:

  • Quality of work
  • Reliability
  • Communication
  • Price

These categories are wonderfully useful. For example, if reliability matters most to you for a time-sensitive job, you can weigh that category more heavily when you decide.

Reading the description, portfolio, and reviews

The description is the provider's chance to tell you about themselves, the work they do, and what makes them a good choice. Take a moment to read it, as it often answers questions before you even ask.

The photo portfolio lets you see examples of their previous work. Browsing these images can give you a real feel for their standards and the kind of jobs they handle.

Finally, the reviews are written by households who have used the provider before. Each review may include the provider's response, which shows you how they communicate and how they handle feedback. Reading both sides together gives you a balanced and honest picture.

A few helpful tips

  • Do not rely on a single signal. The best decisions come from looking at the ratings, badges, portfolio, and reviews together.
  • Pay attention to how a provider responds to reviews, as courteous and helpful replies say a lot about how they will treat you.
  • Use the category ratings to match the provider to your priorities, whether that is quality, reliability, communication, or price.
  • Remember that any prices shown are a guide. DomusVesta does not handle payments, deposits, or commission, so you will agree the details directly with the provider.
